Join with other DEM voters of Carroll County for this periodic check-in with our awesome State Reps — Anita Burroughs, Jerry Knirk, Chris McAleer, and Steve Woodcock (Tom Buco is unable to participate). The APRIL 1 event begins at 7 PM and is being hosted by Ed Butler. Get the Zoom info by clicking here: ZOOM LINK, PLEASE.
On March 16th, Senator Hassan will be represented by her staff at the meeting of the Carroll County DEMs. For folks who are already planning to attend the meeting to welcome Former Speaker Steve Shurtleff, this will be easy! But the Hassan Team will be with us starting at 6:45 PM. This event is for registered Carroll County DEMs and for Carroll County voters who are left-leaning Independents.
Why has the Hassan Team been invited? Senator Shaheen and Senator Hassan were two of the US Senators who ended up being an obstacle for increasing the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour. We wanted her and her team to have the opportunity to hear our feedback. As has always been the case, when Carroll County DEMs reached out to Senator Hassan’s team, we get a response immediately. In fact, it’s only due to a scheduling issue that Senator Hassan herself is not able to be with us. But her staff members will be! Come and listen!
The March 16 meeting agenda:
6:30 PM — The Executive Committee will briefly meet.
6:45 PM — People in the Zoom Waiting Room will enter for the time with the Hassan Team.
7:05 PM — For those arrive *only* for the Shurtleff segment, they will be welcomed in for the meeting.
Get the link for the event — remember, you will arrive at 6:45 PM for Hassan — by contacting KNUTE.
Former Speaker of the House here in New Hampshire, Steve Shurtleff, will be our guest on a March 16th Zoom meeting beginning at 7 PM. He will be in the fun seat with our great segment: “Ask Me Anything About NH Politics.” Our last guest, Andru Volinsky, was fantastic. Numerous people followed up with emails and messages: “I’ve never learned so much in such a short time.” Well … let’s keep learning.
To be part of the Zoom event on March 16 at 7 PM, simply send a message to KNUTE. This event is for Carroll County DEMs and Carroll County left-leaning Independents. Your email request for the Zoom link will be official confirmation that you fit into one of those categories. Thanks in advance!
Carroll County DEMs will be meeting on Tuesday, FEB 23 at 7 PM on Zoom. Among the things on the evening’s short agenda — “Ask Me Anything About NH Politics” with Andru Volinsky. Mr. Volinsky is a former Executive Councilor (a colleague of our dear Mike Cryans) and made a valiant run for Governor of New Hampshire. During these strange times in NH politics — and as the New Hampshire Democratic Party gets its ducks in a row for the 2022 cycle — it’s important for us to listen and learn. To join the meeting on Tuesday, simply reach out to KNUTE for the Zoom link. Be sure to include “FEB 23” in the subject.
Each town’s registered Democrats gather every other year for the particular purpose of choosing its leaders. Leaders help keep everyone together and on track. They plan education events. They support candidates. It can be a very challenging job with lots of moving parts or it can be a pretty easy job — it all depends on what each leadership team has in mind!

Ed Butler was elected to serve as an At Large Member of the Carroll County DEMs through Spring of 2021. Butler will complete the term of LeeAnn Stevens who recently moved away from the county. Later this Spring, the whole county will gather again for a County Caucus during which they will choose their leaders for the 2021-2023 term.
On Friday, January 29th, the Carroll County Democrats will have a meeting on Zoom to elect an *at-large* member to the county’s leadership team. LeeAnn Stevens has moved out of the county. Her work for the CC DEMs during the last 18 months has been very important. She was a valued voice for transparency and fairness.
The Zoom meeting to fill the *at-large* position will happen on January 29 at 1 PM. The term ends this Spring when the county caucus will take place to choose the whole leadership team for service through Spring of 2023.
This county caucus is just one of the important meetings DEMs are having all throughout the county in the many weeks to come. Every town will be undergoing a Town Caucus to choose DEM leadership at the local level. All registered DEMs are invited to participate in their Town Caucus. All caucuses have been or soon will be planned and the dates are being spread throughout the local community. IN the coming days, the CC DEMs will have a listing of all the dates.
To participate in the county caucus to fill LeeAnn’s position through later this Spring, please contact CC DEMs chairperson KNUTE. He will email the Zoom link to all those who request it shortly before the meeting begins. Only those who personally request the link can attend. Only those who are registered DEMs here in Carroll County are permitted to vote.
