Join us on June 10th around 1pm for our annual Flag Day Picnic at Dick and Ruth Stuart’s house on Squam Lake, 677 Squam Lake Rd Sandwich. We began this event to try and rally support in the Lakes Region for Democrats a few years ago and after Edie DesMarais‘ historic win in the Wolfeboro Special Election are convinced that we can win in every district. It will take time, and some money, from all of us though. So come hang out at the lake, enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers, hear from Steve Marchand, State Senator Dan Feltes and Executive Councilor Andru Volinsky as well as our 4 Democratic State Representatives from Carroll County and make a suggested contribution of $25.
The Mount Chocorua Area Democrats held their first annual Farmers Harvest Dinner at the Wold Fellowship Center in Albany on October 18th. Appetizers were provided by Tanna Farm, NH Mushroom Company, White Gates Farm, Steele Farm, Mt. Vida Gardens, Red Gables Farm, The Farm by the River, Nobel Heart Farm and Behr Farm.
The farmers and diners were joined by NH State Representatives Susan Ticehurst of Tamworth and Ed Butler of Hart’s Location, NH State Senator David Pierce, candidate for NH Senate John R. White of Wolfeboro, candidate for NH Executive Council Mike Cryans, candidate for the US House of Representatives Shawn O’Connor and Presidential candidate Lincoln Chafee.

Please join us for the Carroll County Democratic Committee Caucus on Thursday, May 14, 2015, 6 p.m. at Runnells Hall, Chocorua, NH, and hear from our keynote speaker, EXECUTIVE COUNCILOR CHRIS PAPPAS, and other speakers who will get us ready for the 2015-2016 election season!! Other business will include elect our officers for 2015-2016, and talking about how we can best elect Democrats up and down the ticket in 2016. Please note that this event is a potluck and BYOB, please consider bringing a dish, and please consider running for a position on our executive committee (however please do not feel compelled to do any of these things to attend). We will be electing a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and two at-large seats.
The Carroll County Democratic Committee will host an open forum with Michael Cryans, the Democratic candidate for the District One Executive Council Seat, on Thursday, January 16, 2014, gathering at 6:00 pm, program at 6:30 pm, at the Runnells Hall, Runnells Hall Road (off 16 behind the post office) in the Village of Chocorua, Tamworth, NH. Mike will be discussing his background and experience that he will bring to the position, his priorities in seeking the seat, and what the Executive Council does for New Hampshire. There will be a question and answer session after the presentation. Attendees are invited to and welcome to bring dinner for themselves or to share prior to the presentation. Open sign up was held at McGrath’s Tavern in North Conway, Wednesday evening, December 4, at 6PM. Erik Corbett hosted the Drinking Liberally event at the same time and place, to accommodate those who are interested in signing up for health coverage, and who are interested in some Liberal conversation.
The Carroll County Democratic Committee will host its bi-monthly General Meeting on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the Mountain View Nursing Home, 93 Water Village Road, Ossipee, NH. After a general business meeting, we will be hosting a presentation by Mary Morin of the Veteran’s Administration to provide an overview of what the Agency does, an overview of veterans issues/concerns in the state, and an overview of state and federal benefits for veterans and their families. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
