The GOP is Failing NH

The GOP controls the debate in Concord, slamming the brakes on any discussion of positive action. For example, HB567  relative to landlords informing their renters of planned rent increases.  This small but helpful change was voted down by every Carroll County Republican.  All Democrats voted Yea.   The GOP in Concord is committed to ending public support for workforce housing, restricting the growth of the economy by limiting workers that our business men and women need.  They reject any State action to allow local building codes to be modified in response to the crisis and are rarely willing to compromise.

Democrats Have Solutions

There are solutions, for example, Cinde Warmington, Democrat member of the Executive Council convinced the Governor to change his plan for the 100-million-dollar federal grant (President Biden's American Rescue Plan) to include affordable housing support.  The GOP majority in the House is paper thin. A Democrat majority will be able to increase the number of affordable homes and rentals.  In Carroll County we need to flip just three seats to control the debate.   Our Democrat candidates recognize that society (we the people} must adapt to the ever-changing realities of life and the challenges it brings.  Our values and vision inform us that positive action requires that we admit that we are all affected by the crisis, and that big problems can best be solved with honesty and courage.  Failure will mean failure for our entire society and economy, not just the homeless.  It is clear that more moderate voices are sorely needed in Concord.
