Flag Day in Sandwich

The Carroll County Democratic Committee will be hosting its second annual Flag Day Picnic at the home of Dick Stuart in Sandwich on Sunday, June 12.

The picnic starts at 1 p.m.

All local New Hampshire House and county candidates have been invited, and gubernatorial candidates Mark Connolly, Steve Marchand and Colin Van Ostern are expected, as well as congressional candidates Shawn O’Connor and Carol Shea-Porter.

“Last year’s event was a great success with presidential candidate Lincoln Chafee, now gubernatorial candidate Colin Van Ostern and congressional candidates Shawn O’Connor and Carol Shea-Porter attending,” said County Democratic Chair Erik Corbett.

“We even had a Republican tracker try to sneak in to film and twist our candidates words, so we must be doing something right,” he continued.

“We are looking forward to hearing how they will lead New Hampshire and America forward from our legislative and gubernatorial candidates this year. With the GOP openly rallying around a xenophobic bigot, we have an incredible opportunity to achieve lasting progress for Carroll County, New Hampshire and the United States.”

The Flag Day Picnic will be held at 677 Squam Lake Road.

The Carroll County Democrats will provide hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages, and guests are encouraged to bring a salad or dessert if they choose.

A $25 contribution is suggested but not required.
